The odometer gear is the element of the gearbox of the car FIAT 125p and POLONEZ. The individual varieties of the odometer gear differ in the design of the driven gear. The task of the gearbox is to transfer the appropriate driving torque from the gearbox to the odometer and speedometer.
Action:
The odometer gear is driven by the gear (worm type) located on the gearbox shaft. The odometer and speedometer are then driven through these gears and the flexible shaft.
Servicing:
The odometer gear does not require any special maintenance during operation.

Oil pump for: Polonez car 1500/1600 cm³
Intended use of the device:
The oil pump is used in the lubrication system of the 1500/1600 cm³ engine in the POLONEZ car.
Action:
The gear oil pump is attached to the underside of the engine and is driven by the camshaft by a pair of bevel gears. As the gears rotate, oil is sucked from the sump into the pump suction chamber, where it is caught by the gear teeth and carried along the body walls to the pressure chamber, from where it flows to the engine oil lines. The piston type oil pressure control valve maintains the max. pressure generated by the pump at a given speed range, and any excess pressure is discharged into the pump's suction chamber.

Water (fluid) pump is used in cooling system of the POLONEZ car. It is a vane type centrifugal pump. The task of the pump is to generate a constant flow of fluid from the radiator to the engine block space.
Action:
The pump drive is transmitted from the crankshaft by a V-belt. The pump draws water from the radiator and forces it to the water space of the engine block and head. The pump works by centrifugal forces; it is a centrifugal pump.
Servicing:
The pump does not require any special maintenance during operation.
